Wind power project Skallberget

Background
TCC AB together with Nordex Sverige AB plan to apply for permission in accordance with the Swedish Environmental Code for a wind park comprising max 65 wind power turbines. The site is included in the proposal for a wind power project that Åsele municipality is working with. Wind resource mapping carried out by the university in Uppsala revealed favourable winds in the area, parts of which have been identified by the Energy authorities to be of national interest for wind power.

Location
The site is situated around 22 km SSE Åsele town. The closest larger settlements are Västra and Östra Gavsele, approx 11 km west of the site. Other settlements are around 3 km N (Långvattnet) as well as south of the site (Holmträsk). The closest dwelling lies in Nytjärn with a distance of approx 1 km to the closest planned wind power turbine. The area has been used for a long period of time for forestry and for the most part is made up of young and cut forest.

Wind park
The installation is planned to consist of a maximum of 65 wind power turbines with a total installed capacity of max. 195 MW. The wind power turbines’ hub height will be max 140 m and have a rotor diameter of max 120 m. Total height will be max 200 m.
